On-Air Talent

I am a God-fearing Christian that has lived in Oklahoma since 1970. My family has owned Kentucky Fried Chicken in Ada since the same year. I play drums, guitar, bass, and have sang vocals when I had to, and started playing in various bands in 1977. For the past 18 years, I have played drums at my church in Union Valley. I love all types of music from jazz and blues to country and rock & roll. I love my wife, children, grandchildren, and all of my relatives, LOL!

I have been an Oakland Raider fan since 1969. I was watching a football game with my dad once, and he asked which team I wanted. I liked the Raiders’ patch over the eye, so I picked them, LOL.

My priorities are God, my family, and my job.

I started my radio career in the summer of '68 at KADA AM while I was still in high school. I like antiques, sports (Yankees, Redskins, Celtics, & Canadiens), reading non-fiction, and of course music!!! My favorite artists are The Beatles, John Lennon, Johnny Cash, Phil Collins, Don Henley, and Garth Brooks.

I actually got my start in radio by recording commercials that were played between movies at the old Gemini twin theater in Ada.  From there, I went to Elkins Institute, a broadcasting school in OKC.  In 1973, I was hired to do an afternoon shift at KADA-AM.  At the same time, I did a few Sunday morning shows under the name “Dan O'Shea,” at KWSH in Wewoka.  Fourteen years later, I moved to KTEN FM, which was soon changed to KTLS, where I did mornings and promotions.

In 1989, I left radio and became a Deputy Sheriff.  Twenty years later I retired from the cop shop and was destined to return to radio. Here I am, since 2010, doing mornings on KADA FM AKA CooL99.3FM.

My wife Diana and my beagles, Gus and Sophie, are happy that I am still working...and breathing.
